At MAHESHWARI GIRLS’ SCHOOL we offer the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) curriculum to our students. The uniqueness of this curriculum lies in the fact that it is specifically designed keeping the learning objectives laid down by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The most critical element of our curriculum design is the student and what we want her to learn. Thus, the focal point of our curriculum is the learner’s needs and the relevance of the curriculum to meet those needs. Our curriculum framework is flexible and activity based and aids in strengthening the students essential understanding over the years.
The Montessori system, much in use world-wide, is known as the best form of pre- school engagement of children. The first six years of life are those when a human being enjoys the fastest brain development. This happens spontaneously and unobtrusively under three conditions: Basic genetic endowment, Least injunctive parents (less of don’ts into their ears), and presence of what is known as the Montessori environment, fully satisfying the requirement of the absorbent mind to learn concentration in the first phase, control and co-ordination in the second phase and purposeful activity guided by the will in the third phase. By the time the child is five she will have dramatically transformed herself into an intellectually, sensorial and muscularly developed and balanced human being.
The Primary (Grades I to IV) – curriculum is tailor-made to cater to the different levels from and designed in such a way that it promotes conceptual learning and understanding, and also encourages critical inquiry. Our school curriculum focuses on building and deepening the understanding of students.
For Grades V to X – the best recommended textbooks and study materials that align with the ICSE objectives are chosen and are given out to the students. The implementation of various units is planned with the use of various teaching strategies as well as teaching aids, making learning an overall rich experience.
The subjects that are offered are divided into three groups.
For Grades XI & XII – the school follows the ISC curriculum and the subject choices and syllabi prescribed for these examinations are varied and aimed at nurturing the unique gifts of individual pupils. A minimum of 5 subjects and a maximum of 7 subjects should be appeared for qualifying at ISC.
There are only two streams for which the subject combinations are as follows:
